WRITING ADS

By now you are probably more than eager to start making money with your new ClickBank account! In this section you will learn how and where to write ads for the company that you partnered with in Part 3...

First we suggest that you sign up for a Google AdWords account. As Google says, "all it takes is $5 and 15 minutes to open a new account." There are other places to write your ads, including some free sources (which we will discuss in the "More Ads" section), but we have found that Google AdWords is the best place for new members to start because it's easy to use and often results in profits being made your first day!

We'll talk about those other sources later, so for now let's look at how to open your Google AdWords account...

You might want to watch the signup demo before getting started. It is a flash (movie) presentation, and shows you the steps to sign up for your AdWords account.

Click here to watch the sign-up tutorial.

As soon as you're ready to sign up for your account, go to the AdWords home page...

Click here to go to Google AdWords

You will see a welcome page...

Click the button to begin setting up your account. The next screen will look something like this...

Choose the English language, unless you are fluent in another language and would like to write ads in that language in addition to English. Select the "Countries and territories" option. Click the button to continue.

The next screen will look like this...

You want to advertise to the whole world. Therefore, remove any individual countries from the selection box. Then add the "All Countries and Territories" option to the selection box. Click to continue.

The next screen will look like this...

This is where you write your first ad! Remember the company that you partnered with in the last step of the program? You will write an ad for that company now. Write a catchy headline, and a short ad which should be intended to make people want to visit their website. Google has some guidelines that must be followed, such as no misspellings, or no obscenity, etc. Don't worry about it now though; if your ad doesn't meet a certain guideline, Google will let you know.

After you write the ad, you need to enter the URL. A URL is simply a website address. For the "Display URL", enter the website address of your partner's website. For example: WritingCash.com. If your partner's URL will not fit into the Display URL box, that's OK. Just enter the main domain of your partner's website (for example, instead of writingcash.com/this-page.html, you can just type writingcash.com).

Now for the important part: the "Destination URL". Remember the "hoplink" (affiliate link) that you saved from the last step when you chose a company to partner with? You will need the hoplink now. This is how you get credit for the ads you write! It is very important that you use the correct hoplink.

Whatever you do, make sure you enter the full hoplink into the "Destination URL". You need to use the full and correct hoplink so you get credit for the ad.

*Note: The Writing Cash Program is not currently using ClickBank, the hoplink in the picture is just a fake hoplink for demonstration. (If you want to promote our program, learn all of this stuff first, and then we'll tell you how to partner with us later on in Part 9).

After you've finished writing the ad and entering your hoplink, click to continue...

This is where you write a list of words that are related to your partner's company and product. It is important that you take some time and think of as many words as possible. In the "Improve" section (Part 10), we will talk about some extra tools you can use to create huge lists of keywords, but for now just think of as many as you can.

Just make sure the keywords are actually related to the product that your ad is advertising. These keywords will be used by Google to display your ad when these terms are searched for on their search engine. You want your ad to appear whenever someone is searching for something relevant to your topic.

If you need help thinking of some keywords, you can use the related-keyword tool which is built into the page. Make sure you use all the different variations of your keyword. For example writer and writers. You should even include misspellings, such as "writr", "Writor", etc.

After you have entered a list of keywords, click to continue...

On this page, you will select some billing options. Choose your currency. Then set a daily budget. In general, the more money you spend to show your ad, the more money you will make from your partner. However, you need to start small until we get to Part 6, which is Tracking. For now, set any amount you are comfortable with. For example, $5/day would be a good starting point.

You will then enter a cost per click (CPC). Again, you will need to start small until you begin tracking your results in Part 6. A good starting point would be 5 cents per click.

Then click to continue...

On this page, review your ad and keywords to make sure you typed everything correctly. If everything looks OK, then go ahead and click to continue...

Follow the instructions to complete the creation of your AdWords account. You will probably need a credit card or debit card in order to activate your account. If you need a credit card, residents of the USA can get guaranteed approved cards here: Prepaid VISA or Prepaid Mastercard.

When you have finished setting up your account, log into your new AdWords account and make sure that the billing area includes your selected payment option and make sure your first campaign is active. It may take a couple days until Google reviews your account and activates the campaign.

Are you ready to move on to the next step?

Do you now have a Google AdWords account?

Is your AdWords campaign "active"?

If you answered YES to both questions, proceed to PART 5: Repeating

If you have any trouble signing up for Google AdWords, please view their support area. If you are unable to successfully set up your account, you can contact Google AdWords via their contact form. Please note that Google is not directly associated with The Writing Cash Program. Therefore if you have any questions about our program, contact us in the support area. But if you have questions about your Google account, then you should contact Google.
