If you wish to enter the contest, you may enter for free here. Rate This Contest Entry: Contest: June 30th, 2005 Author: Kimberly Puhrmann Cassi and I had been the best of friends since kindergarten. Now, as the light drizzle came down on the run way I was returning home with her. As we lifted off in to the air, I recounted the days that lead up to now. College was just one more stop for us. Then our goals that we had set in to motion would be played out. She fell in love with one of her professors, it was "great and the best feeling" in the world she had told me. Now, she had no feelings. Her last feelings were of anguish and remorse. She let her family down she felt. When she found out she was pregnant he had not be happy. In fact he had been upset. Broke up with her right away. She felt ashamed she told me. Her parents had only been there for her when the "public eye" was on them. Now, as I flew in the air I wondered if they would regret this. My best friend had decided it was best to end her life than to give life. This is the first time in my life that my friend was not by my side. How could this happen? I wanted to scream at the guys to not load the coffin. How was I to go on with out her there to share things with? After the funeral, I sat there at the graveside and talked to her for one last time. I would come back once in awhile but now, I have to sort out my life and feelings. Now it was time for me to learn to live on my own. I often wonder when it rains now if it is tears from heaven. I cry when the "first" occur in my life now, I slip back in time and wonder the what ifs. All I know is there is a Little girl lost in the universe somewhere waiting to feel the comfort of loving arms. Someday, I might get the chance to hug her and when I do it will be great!
