It was always muddy outside, and there was nothing to do inside but watch T.V. and you know how boring that gets after a while. I’m an only child, with only one parent, my Mom. My Dad was killed in a car crash. Although he was in the passenger’s seat, the person driving was drunk. We both miss him, but we’ve moved on, after all it was 7 years ago. “Billy get up you’re going to be late for school!” “Ugh, what’s for breakfast mom? Or do I have time to eat any?” What’s wrong with mom? Why isn’t she turning around? “Mom what’s for breakfast!” “Nothing DEAR!!” “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” Whoa! Did I actually dream mom was an alien? Weird. “Hey mom what’s for breakfast? “Sausage, now come down and pick out the ones you want, I’ll take the rest to work.” I ate three sausages and then went outside. It was actually kind of fun. The mud was dried up and there were a few squirrels to pitch rocks at, mom and I hate them anyways. By the time I got back inside mom was gone to work. She’d left 2 mini pizzas on the counter for me to cook, but I was filled up on sausage. I forgot to mention we had a computer, not the best, but not the worst. I got on the net and started playing some games. I popped in my favorite CD, to listen to some tunes, but it wouldn’t work. So I took it out of my computer and whipped it out the window. “piece of junk!” Just as I did I heard something outside, a loud THUMP. But what was it? I looked out the window to see a huge tree knocked down. This wasn’t anything natural. It was cracked off! I was freaked out. I looked at the computer and noticed the screen was black. I got up and turned the power switch on the T.V. but it didn’t come on. “That’s weird, why isn’t it working?” I looked outside and gasped, the power lines were snapped! Then, off in the distance I noticed two strange figures. They looked like they were fighting, no they were fighting. One of them looked like it was trying to get away. It leaped into the air, and over the power pole! But then the other creature shot it with something. The thing in the air fell down and hit the ground hard. It…. It was dead! The creature walked up to it, and pulled off its oval shaped head! It put it on its arm as if it were a shield. The gunk dripping from its head was melting the rock the creature was standing on! I quickly closed the blinds and ran to my room, diving under my bed. What the hell was that? I came out when I heard a knock on the door. I must’ve been there for 2 hours. I lifted the blinds to see mom waiting outside. I unlocked it and let her inside the house. “Why did you have the door lock, it’s enough to freeze you out there!” Should I tell her? Nah she’ll never believe me, I had to make up a lie and fast. “I….umm got scared when I saw someone walk by with a shotgun.” “Hmm I wonder why he had a shotgun, hopefully he’s gonna get rid of those darn squirrels. I can’t believe it! She actually bought that lame lie! The next morning I went outside again, not even thinking about what happened yesterday. I managed to get 3 squirrels. When I was walking home I noticed some shiny on the ground, it was a piece of the CD I threw out. I picked it up and put it in my pocket. When I stepped on the mat to the front door I instantly noticed a sudden burn. I looked down to see goo smeared over the mat. It burned like crazy! I flung off my shoes and pulled off my socks. Luckily I was quick with my actions, only the first layer of my skin was burned off. I was surprised, the mat was barley burnt, yet. Then I realized that if the goo is on the mat then the creature is probably in the house!!! I was terrified. I stepped over the remains of the mat (which weren’t very much} and opened the door. Not a single drop of goo was in the house. I walked by my room and then I was grabbed! I saw a giant head in front of me. I broke free of the things grip and turned around. It was armored from head to toe, and it had that creatures head around its arm, it was the same one I saw yesterday. I tried to run but it grabbed me and pulled me back. It then pulled out an extremely short stick. He pressed a button on it and the stick turned into a long double-sided spear, it was cool! He jabbed it through the wall then he pulled it back, the side of the spear was then covered in goo. I ran out into the hall to see the other type of creature lying dead on the ground, the acid had melted the carpet. The creature with the spear grabbed me and started running. It was so fast, and then it leaped about 50 feet right into a ship. Then it drove off, with me in it. “Umm can you talk?” “Yes, I can.” “I kidnapped you because you are in danger.” In Danger? What’s he talking about? “My species are called Zerg, and we have come here to eliminate the Aparoids [Ap-ah-roids] which are the other creatures you saw. There in a war, that explains why they were fighting, and the dream I had. About a minute later we were at a huge planet, I looked back and I couldn’t even see Earth! How much technology do these Zerg things have? Way more than us, that’s all I know. I was following the Zerg thing throughout the planet, he led me to a room filled with cages. “GET IN THE CAGE!” “Huh? I thought you were on our side. “THEN YOU THOUGHT WRONG, NOW GET IN THE CAGE BEFORE I’M FORCED TO KILL YOU! “Okay okay I’m going.” There were a lot of other humans in other cages, but there were shaking and moving back in forth, it’s like their not allowed to talk. I can’t believe he tricked me. Earth is caught in the middle of this war, I’ve gotta break out and warn everyone, I’ve gotta! But these cages weren’t normal. It was like the bars were made of plasma or something. I got up off the ground, and I noticed there was something in my pocket I pulled it out and it was a piece of that stupid CD. I dropped it on the ground, but it hit the hole that was putting out the plasma bar. I was amazed. That little piece of CD stopped the plasma from coming out. All I needed to stop was one bar, and I could manage to squeeze out. And I did. I grabbed the piece of CD and pocketed it. I ran out and grabbed one of those ships, I didn’t know how to start it, but I somehow did. I pressed a button called recall, which brings you back to the last place you were. Luckily it was the same ship I got kidnapped in, so I was right back home. I told everyone I knew about how we were in the middle of a war, and if it continues we will all be annihilated. Of course no one believed me but they told their friends anyway, they also told them about how big of a liar I am. But I didn’t care, as long as people knew about it. I didn’t know where my mom was, but she could be working overtime. Everyone grabbed their guns when they saw giant ships flying above us. The Zerg and the Aparoids started fighting the humans, fighting us. I was hiding, I took out a mini battery powered T.V. It was on the news, it was like the whole world was fighting. The battle raged on, we fought hard, using everything we had, and we pulled out on top. Every Zerg and Aparoid that came to the planet was killed. Who would of known, they weren’t in a war against each other, they were both against us. When they were fighting they knew I was there, and they knew I would spread the word that they were against each other, when they were actually a team. The results of the war were devastating though, less than a million were left on the Earth. Five years later Earth was just like it used to be, only we took the Zergs technology, so now we were more than prepared for another attack like that.
